Climbing "Crimson Chrysalis" in Red Rocks, Las Vegas

This was an epic day of climbing! It was our last climb of the trip and despite the reputation for major crowds, we had the whole route to ourselves! The climbing is steep, but no moves were harder than 5.8. We linked pitches 2&3 and 5&6 which I highly recommend. The summit is amazing and we were able to comfortably walk around on top before rappeling down. You can rap the entire route with a full 70 meter rope. A couple of the raps were close to the ends of the rope so tie yer knots and be careful. There was more jamming on this route than the other routes on this trip, which was very enjoyable. You can bypass a lot of the jamming with face holds on the outside of the crack, but thats lame. Route was shaded all day. This was our favorite climb of the trip, but can definitely see how it becomes a shit show quickly with crowds. Highly recommend!
