In this video, we will show you the two common chassis options for the PowerEdge R540. There are a total of two options which are: 8 Bay LFF and 12 Bay LFF. There are not very many differences between the different chassis aside from the differences in bay and the lengths of the chassis. The 8 Bay LFF chassis accepts up to eight 3.5” SAS/SATA drives. This chassis has a removable plate near the front of the chassis that gives you access for an optical drive reader installation. The 12 Bay LFF chassis accepts up to twelve 3.5” SAS/SATA drives. 2.5” HDDs and SSDs can be installed into this chassis via a 2.5” to 3.5” drive converter. Both chassis have one high profile PCIe slot, four low profile PCIe slots, and a dedicated PCIe slot for RAID controller cards. Do you want to buy a refurbished Dell PowerEdge R540 server?
