Throughout the main gameplay, there's been hints to the Alan Wake universe with mentions of Hartman, the clicker, and Bright Falls as an AWE [altered world event]. This DLC confirms that Control and Alan Wake are of the same universe but have different dealings. Jesse is called out by Alan Wake, only she doesn't know who it is yet. We make it to the Oceanview Motel and the Spiral Door is now open. Inside is Alan Wake and Tom Zane speaking to each other. Alan still has not escaped the Dark Place. Hartman was the one who brought Alan and Alice to the Lakehouse. He's still at the FBC somewhere. When we find him, he looks like a hybrid monstrosity.
