Xiegu G90 love affair begins

Second time out for my Xiegu G90 and I am starting to love it. It’s a bit fiddly and I need to find my way around it but for the price (£400 here in the UK) it is a great buy considering the features it has. The waterfall is a huge plus over my usual portable radios, Yaesu FT-817 and 857. This time I took it out to the Packing Shed at West Mersea. This is a great location for HF and where I operate from most. Receiving great signal reports from here, even on low power is nothing new but I was particularly interested in reports on the audio. I had the compression on with mic gain set to ten which appears to be about right based on the audio reports I received today. I need to get to grips with the bandwidth filter so it becomes second nature to use dynamically on a noisy band like 80m was today. I also need to try out the SWR scan function so I can leave my analyser at home, small as it is it’s one less thing (expensive thing) to carry around. So far, I am loving it
