It's time! For my 2024 giant Sweet Potato attempt harvest reveal! 😃🍠 Variety: Beauregard/Golden | Days Growing: 210 | Bed Size: 100cm x 100cm 1 Slip | Total yield: 24.04KG/52.91LBS | Heaviest Root: 3.03KG 🍠 2020 Giant Sweet Potato Attempt:    • 2020 Giant Sweet Potato attempt, 1 sl...   🍠 2022 Giant Sweet Potato Attempt:    • 2022 Giant Sweet Potato attempt, 1 sl...   This is the longest i've ever let a sweet potato grow, and oh boy it did not disappoint! 😃 My previous giant attempt in 2022 was 18.7KG total with Hawaiian Sunshine, so this year's giant attempt is 5 1/2KG heavier! Although my heaviest single root goes to my Northern Star giant attempt in 2020 weighing 3.5KG! 🍠 Of course i am very thankful for this harvest, but i'm gonna have to say i'm slightly disappointed 😂 Only cause i got more roots than i wanted, when i tried to focus the growth only in the center, remember this is a giant attempt, so actual goal is to grow the biggest/heaviest single root, not a total yield, but i already saw that coming when i saw the exposed roots sticking out 😂 Also this is a skinnier variety of sweet potato, so i didn't hold my hopes too high, for sure i will be attempting with Northern Star again as that has the best potential, actually i might be attempting with all 3 varieties next Summer! 😃 While these won't be eaten yet as this goes public & they will still be in the curing stage, i think these sweet potatoes will still be fine to eat, i've heard a lot that huge roots are hard & stringy, but my 3.5kg root from 2020 was not hard nor stringy at all, so i think it's more to do with age then size, but this sitting at over 200 days, i can only think they'll be okay 😂 (I'll update eating these on my community posts, do keep a look out for that there!)
