The Truth About Your RV's Heated & Enclosed Underbelly // Air Sealing for Comfort and No Critters

1-Year Update Here:    • Sealing My RV's Underbelly One Year F...   Almost every modern RV is offered with this common selling point--a "heated and enclosed underbelly." And, really you'll find this same selling point on just about every RV regardless of the price point. You'll hear sales people bring it up frequently along with it being mentioned in RV tours time and time again. Everything from entry-level travel trailers to high-end fifth wheels come with it. But, while manufacturers all boast that they have a "heated and enclosed underbelly" have you ever actually looked at your RV's underbelly? I'm on my 5th RV and every RV that I've owned (3x Forest River, 1x Grand Design, and 1x Jayco) have all suffered from the term I'm going to coin as a "leaky underbelly." What this means is, not only is potentially conditioned air leaking in and out of your underbelly, there are also gaps and cracks for critters and bugs to easily crawl into. In today's video I'll show you how I've refined my air sealing process over the years to my current iteration on my Jayco Pinnacle. I'll use a combination of primarily zip flashing tape and expanding black foam. This video is all part of my in-depth series on the Jayco Pinnacle line-up featuring my 2021 Pinnacle 37MDQS. If you haven't seen the full video tour that kicked off the series, be sure to check it out and subscribe! What do you think? Is it a good idea to air seal your RV's underbelly, or do you think it is better to let your underbelly "breathe" like most RV manufacturers ship their finished products to dealers?
