This deck must be one of my all-time favorites. It has everything I love about this game: Lots of decision-making; Possible one-turn kills; Out-valuing opponents in a grindy match-up; Card draw and ability to play your Sideboard through Fae of Wishes. I still have a lot to learn on how to properly pilot this deck, so any suggestions and tips are welcome. The toughest part is to deal with hand disruption and aggro. [Ashiok, Dream Render] is our worst nightmare, but it is not impossible to beat. We have plenty of card draw and ramp available through [Growth Spiral], [Memory Deluge], [Spelunking] and [Ill-Timed Explosion], which serves also as a board wipe in some cases. We also gain pretty good amount of life through [Omnath, Locus of Creation] triggers and fetch lands. [Virtue of Strength] is an amazing card in this deck as it allows us to get back our fetch lands or that creature which we need to combo off when we have enough ramp and eventually ending the game. The following are some tips and tricks that I learned about while playing this deck. Landfall Triggers Optimization: Ideally you play [Nissa, Resurgent Animist] and [Omnath, Locus of Creation] and a fetch land after to gain maximum value and possibly play another card from hand. Do not forget (and prepare mana accordingly) that [Nissa, Resurgent Animist] can fetch [Omnath, Locus of Creation] on the second landfall trigger. Ramp Optimization: Ideally you play [Aftermath Analyst] and sacrifice it in the same turn to get maximum ramp value, given all the removal and graveyard hate in the current meta, unless you are holding mana for it's instant sacrifice ability of course. Remember to use your floating mana if available, before lands when casting [Virtue of Strength] as then you can tap your mana for triple. Aggro Mitigation: Do not hesitate to play [Fae of Wishes] as a two-mana drop creature to gain time, to discard some of your best cards with [Ill-Timed Explosion] to clear the board (especially if it's a fetch land or a creature which we can get back through Virtue of Strength or Aftermath Analyst). Ideally you want to try and have blue and green if you don't have much to play in your first few turns, given that our two-drops are of those colors (Fae of Wishes, Growth Spiral and Aftermath Analyst). Do not hesitate to re-play Omnath, Locus of Creation] just for additional lifegain triggers if on low health. We can fetch Omnath back from graveyard through Analyst and fetch more through [Nissa, Resurgent Animist]'s second landfall ability. Maximum Value: Keep in mind that you can blink [Nissa, Resurgent Animist] and [Omnath, Locus of Creation] to re-trigger landfall abilities before the end of your turn, especially when you are also blinking [Spelunking] into a fetch land from hand. You can then trigger landfall abilities again before the end of turn, to gain more life and possibly play an instant [Growth Spiral] or [Memory Deluge], with the mana from the landfall triggers.
