Campervan Vanlife: Our must have items In this video we review our van life must have items. With only a week until we hit the road we wanted to share with you some of the items we have recently bought. After fitting the LPG tank to Trudy - we had to purchase the European LPG adapters so that we are able to fill up when on the road and Europe has different standard fittings. I bought a Bestek 300w inverter - this plugs into the 12v sockets that put in and then allows us to plug in a 3 pinned electrical device such as electric tooth brush or hair clipper . (any item up to 300w). This is a great gadget and one I know we are going to use a lot. We already have. a number or torches however they all run of batteries and are not rechargeable so we wanted to buy one that could be plugged into a USB socket and be recharged. We found a small on called OEX. Powerlux lantern. Its great because not only does it have good light, its USB chargeable and it's small. Size always matters when packing up the van. My favourite item is the STERIPEN ULTRA. What a superb device. It basically makes unsafe water safe to drink. When you travel you normally end up buying lots of bottled water because the tap water may not be safe but not when you have this - it basically saves 16,000 bottles of water per pen. This model can be USB charged - genius I wonder why more people don't use these - especially with all the worlds plastic pollution. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
