Alberta Premier Danielle Smith discusses viral handshake with Trudeau, health-care summit | FULL

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith met with reporters Thursday to discuss her trip to Ottawa and meeting with Canada's first ministers and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Smith said her trip to Ottawa was "very constructive," but that the premiers were "somewhat disappointed" with the amount of funding announced for health care. "My meeting with the prime minister was positive overall," Smith said. But also stated that the prime minister has not yet shown himself to be "a friend of Alberta." Smith was also asked about conversations with outspoken Calgary pastor Artur Pawlowski. Pawlowski faces charges of breaching a release order and mischief for inciting people to block public property at the border crossing at Coutts, Alta. When asked if she had spoken to him directly, Smith simply answered "yes." When pressured, Smith stated, "I've always said, that I had sought the opportunity to seek amnesty. I was told by my justice minister, amnesty is not available to a premier." The premier also commented on an awkward handshake with Prime Minister Trudeau that has gone viral.
