How are they holding up? Comparing an eight month old set of DR Neon Pink coated bass guitar strings to the same strings the day they were installed on a Sire Gen 2 V7 active jazz bass. Bass clips were recorded direct with a touch of compression from a Diamond BCP1 Bass Compressor. The DR neon coated strings are nickel plated steel roundwounds and offered in a bunch of cool colors. The coating affects the tone of the strings, but it also affects the feel, and after trying them I still prefer the DR Fat Beam set, which is my favorite round wound string for bass.
