BREEDING IS OUT! Equestrian the game [ETG E63]

I hope you enjoyed the video! If you did pls leave a like comment and subscribe! Here’s a little guide to how horse genetics work: First of all, you always have one Dominant and one recessive allele. Dominant means you only need one copy so it can show and recessive means you need two. Dominant is represented by a capital letter Recessive is represented by a lowercase letter Example: Brown eyes: Dominant (B) Blue eyes: recessive (b) Since brown eyes are dominant, they only need one allele to show. If the genotype is Bb (meaning dominant brown and recessive blue) brown is going to show (same with BB, dominant and recessive brown) In order to have blue eyes, you would need two recessives (bb) Now that you understand dominant and recessive, let’s get into the horse coats Horses have 3 different coat types: Bay, Chestnut, and black every other colour is a subcategory of these three But what makes these colours? There’s 2 genes called Extension and agouti that code for the horse’s colour. Extension is represented by the letter E, and agouti, the letter A. Extension: If the horse has a dominant extension (Ee or EE) it can create a black and red pigment (chestnut). If it has a recessive extension (ee) it can only create red (chestnut). Agouti: This tells where the black pigment can go if it has. A dominant agouti (Aa or AA) will only allow the black to go to certain points (like its legs). This is why some horses have black legs instead of white! If it’s recessive (aa) it allows the black pigment everywhere, hence creating a black horse! To give you an idea: Chestnut: ee AA, ee Aa, ee aa Bay: EE AA, Ee AA, EE Aa Black:EE aa,Ee aa But of course, there’s more than just 3 horse coats! There are other genes that come and dilute/concentrate the colours Example: Dun and cream Dun is dominant and is represented by a D (DD, Dd) Coats that you can get from dun: Red dun: chestnut and dun Bay dun: bay and dun Black dun/grullo: black and dun Cream works a bit differently. You can have more than one cream allele. The easiest way I can put it is that 2 creams make a more diluted colour than just 1. Its notation is (Crcr ) in the game but some other references only use (Cc). The notation for 2 creams is (CrCr) or (CC) Coats with 1 Cream: Palomino: Chestnut and cream Buckskin: bay and cream Smoky black: black and cream Coats with 2 creams: Cremello : Chestnut and cream cream Perlino: bay and cream cream Smoky cream: black and cream cream Other cream combinations: Dunalino: chestnut+dun+cream Cremello dun: chestnut+dun+cream+cream Dunskin: bay+dun+cream Perlino dun: bay+dun+cream+cream Smoky grullo: black+dun+cream Smoky cream grullo: black+dun+cream+cream Lastly you have gray. This is a dominant gene and is represented by (Gg or GG). The moment a horse has this gene, it is gray. Gray: Chestnut and gray Gray: bay and gray Gray: black and gray IT'S ALWAYS GRAY! Head markings: Star = HM11 Snip = HM31 Star and Strip= HM11 and HM21 Star and Snip = HM11 and HM31 Star, Strip, and Snip = HM11 and HM21 and HM31 Stripe and Snip = HM21 and HM31 Bald Face = HM12 and HM21 and HM32 Badger Face = HM22 and HM32 Temperament: Calm horses: TS= calm TSTS= calm but balanced TZ= calm but balanced Feisty horses: TSTS /TZTZ = super feisty TS/TZTZ = middle feisty TZTZ = feisty balanced TSTS/TZ= feisty balanced Primary traits: This would be the first trait if you are looking at them from left to right.
