http://bit.ly/LDOTradDuns In this video I demonstrate the dundun accompaniments for the popular rhythm Djole. Each dundun accompaniment consists of a bell pattern and a pattern that is played on the drum. The order i introduce them in is: Sangban - Kenkeni - Dundunba Firstly i demonstrate the bell pattern. The pattern is introduced gradually with a constant pulse played on foot bells. Once the full pattern is established, it is played for 30 to 60 seconds. This way you can become familiar with the bell pattern before you start punctuating it with the hits on the actual drum. You will find that many dundun rhythms share common bell patterns. In fact, for the 54 dundun rhythms contained in the LDO rhythms, there are a total of only 21 bell patterns! Next i introduce the full dundun pattern (bell + drum) at a slightly faster speed (90bpm vs 75 bpm). The bell is constant, so are the foot bells which you will hear faintly. The hits on the drum are introduced gradually until the full pattern is established and played for a further 30-60 seconds.
