Thrust bearings are the weak point in turbo cars. Is it the spooling or the coupling, I don't really know but I do know that torque converter push naturally on the flexplate. There are things you can do to help the factory thrust bearing, oiling, line pressure in transmission, looser converter and proper torque converter spacing. But when those things fail, the ultimate thrust system is a roller system! Here Kevin, with TKM talks about why it's needed and how it is machined and installed.
