Every March, thousands and thousands of Snow Geese and Swans stop at this lake on their way back to the arctic. It is quite a spectacle to see and if you are living in Montana or just visiting, this is a trip that everyone should make. There aren't many places in the world where you can see this many geese in one spot. This lake is located west of Great Falls, between the towns of Choteau and Fairfield. The front range of the Rocky Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop for Freezeout Lake. This is one of Montanas seven wonders.
