APC Photo Artist Talk w/ Jeff Chen - November 2023

Please join us on the 21st of November at 7pm to welcome Jeff Chen, our November Featured Artist! Jeff Chen 陳奕正 is a Taiwanese American photographer and multimedia producer with roots in Ka-gī and Maryland. He’s lived on Dena’ina lands in Anchorage, Alaska, since 2012. Digital storytelling is one way he likes to connect with people and share both the ordinary and also defining moments that make-up a life and community. Tropical Islands Up North, a tribute to the island he loves, debuts at the Akela Space in downtown Anchorage on Friday, November 3, 2023, and will be up all month. Jeff was inspired to create this photography project about the Taiwan diaspora in Alaska, after seeing so many others in Alaska reflect on their own identities with so much vulnerability.
