BBC EastEnders: Tanya Cross / Lauren Branning / Oscar Branning Exit with @UKTVCritic's review EastEnders Episode dated: 28 June 2013 I didn't like the way that Jo Joyner was written out of EastEnders. There was no Julia's Theme, which I thought could have been used, however I do understand that Lauren Branning is coming back so perhaps the standard Doof Doof's was used for that aspect. Tanya's Exit was a bit anti-climactic as Lauren is returning after Jacqueline Jossa's well deserved break, even although Tanya isn't, I felt that it would have been better if she went off with Oscar Branning in the taxi alone, and perhaps the episode beforehand we could have seen Lauren being cared for by Paramedics or a medical professional and taken away to the clinic that way (in the way that Jim Branning's exit was handled). There was some missing links in the whole exit, like, Tanya & Oscar's living arrangements, we know that Lauren will be in residential care for her Alcohol Addiction/Hepatitis, but where is Tanya & Oscar going to stay, where is Oscar going to go to School, you can't just up and leave with a child without having some handover meetings with schools (I imagine). Tanya may own Booty but the salon isn't going to provide enough income for her to keep a house for Oscar (and potentially Lauren when her time in medical care ends), and I don't think Oscar is capable of having a paper round yet. Plus, the focus was too much on Tanya, when Oscar & Lauren were leaving too.
