**UPDATE** Several people have reached out to me saying that it's just the Zelda shell that is messed up and that other ones works well. *** Here I show you how to replace the shell on a Nintendo DS Lite and thereby also fix a broken hinge issue. The replacement isn’t very difficult to do, I would say the hardest part is to get the ribbon cable through the hinge and also getting the wifi cable underneath the cartridge slot. As always you should go slow and gently and don’t force anything so you break it. If you don’t think you can do it, then don’t. I don’t take any responsibility for you breaking your own stuff. And I also recommend not using an aftermarket shell replacement because even though it’s supposed to be good quality, it probably isn’t and will give you an unnecessary hard time fixing your DS. But, if you’re not able to get an original shell, then go ahead. It worked out for me in the end, although I ended up with a Frankenstein Monster DS. Good luck, have fun!
