Pretoria pit memorial walk. In the video the walk starts from the Pretoria memorial just off Broadway, walking on the public footpaths to the pit ruins and onto the capped shaft 4. which is also public access. The video is filmed in real time so the walk will take 45 minutes to 1-hour. I have filmed 20 minutes of the walk, including the lake and ruins. It was very wet underfoot, as you will see and hear in the video. I haven't narrated the video, as I wanted it to be natural, so people that can't access to the area can enjoy the walk, as if they where there. All the paths I walked, and the Pretoria pit ruins are all public access. They were donated by the Hulton family to the public and managed by Bolton council. All other areas away from the public footpaths are owned by Peel Holdings, this is private land. There are many more public walks on the Hulton estate, which I hope to film in the future.
