Rational functions can have zero, one, or multiple x -intercepts. For any function, the x -intercepts are x -values for which the function has a value of zero: f(x)=0 There are three kinds of asymptotes: horizontal, vertical and oblique. A rational function has at most one horizontal asymptote or oblique (slant) asymptote, and possibly many vertical asymptotes.
