The verdict is a major setback for the Congress party and its leaders in the state Udai Bhan and Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The BJP, which replaced former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar with Nayab Singh Saini in March this year, is leading in 48 of 90 assembly constituencies, while the Congress party is leading in 35 assembly segments, data published by the Election Commission of India showed on October 8. The others including the Independent candidates are leading on the remaining six seats.
