When I left off, I had assembled the new network rack. In this video, I get it mounted on the wall in my basement/garage. In the area where I did the installation, the studs are exposed (great!). I didn't want to put the screws that anchor the rack in a stud. Instead, I secured some 4x4 (which are actually 3.5 by 3.5 inches) to one of the walls. I did "notch" the 4x4s so that they fit in with the studs. Using the screw template, I adjusted the positioning of the 4x4s, marked where the the bolts should go, and put the bolts in place. Once the bolts were in place, the hardest part was over. I hung up the rack and tightened the nuts to secure the rack in place. I also removed the punch-out from the top since I'll be running all of my cables in through the top. The rack that I am using came from Amazon. You can find it by going to https://j2i.net/go/wallrack (this is an affiliate link, I make a small commission if you purchase the rack through this). Now that the rack is in place, need to get power, cable (for the modem), and networking run to the rack. I'll continue that in another video.
