My first dragon boat festival in fact, this 3 day competition comprises of teams from around Asia, including the Philippines and others. We explore along the river banks where the teams are warming up, check out some of the racing itself, and then sample some of the delights at the food stalls. First we try the cheesiest mozzarella sticks on planet Earth, followed by a traditional dish eaten at the dragon boat festival- Zongzi; sticky rice stuffed with pork and spices wrapped in bamboo leaves....I mean...what is NOT to absolutely LOVE here??? Simply amazing! The opening ceremony wasn't anything to rave about, just a bunch of dignitaries & sponsors being brought up to the stage over a period of 45 minutes. Pretty boring.
