MM Kotkamills is proud to introduce our new Absorbex® paper that is optimized for use with lignin-based resins. This year, this saturating kraft paper was awarded 3rd prize in the Uusi puu (New Wood) competition, which was searching for concrete products that use wood to address global challenges. The new solution of our paper with lignin-based resin creates an excellent alternative to traditional production of laminates utilizing phenol-based resins. Like other Absorbex® products, this innovative product is made from sawdust which binds carbon in the end product, high-pressure laminate, for up to several decades. We are proud to have developed this new product in collaboration with our customers, helping us both to move towards a more sustainable future.
