Recorded these VODs of Battle Maison ORAS and Battle Tree USUM around a year ago. Finally getting around to uploading them now. ________________________ Pokemon USUM - Battle Tree Super Doubles 50 (vs. Blue) [Rain Team] Pelipper - Focus Sash, ?, Drizzle (252 HP, 252 Speed, 6 SpAtk) Hurricane, Scald, Tailwind, Protect Swampert - Swamperite, Adamant, Swift Swim Waterfall, Earthquake, Ice Punch, Superpower Ludicolo - Life Orb, Modest, Swift Swim Surf, Ice Beam, Giga Drain, Fake Out Tapu Koko - Timid, Electrium Z, Electric Surge Thunder, Dazzling Gleam, Calm Mind, Protect Doubles was difficult. It felt much more difficult than previous generations, and I'm not sure why. Obviously we can point to the fact that the AI is able to use Megas and Z-moves, but I'm also thinking it has to do with the higher amount of variance in pokes and strategies compared to previous gens. I did also note the AI switches out more often and uses weather more often. This rain team is fairly consistent, I had a few close calls getting up to a 50 streak, but for the most part it cleans up. There aren't many grass types out there that threaten Swampert, and even so, we can just switch out to Ludicolo and let Pelipper one shot with Hurricane. Electric types obviously threaten Pelipper, but Focus Sash / Protect combined with Tapu Koko in the back as a switch option, and Swampert's Earthquake makes them a lot less threatening. I used Tapu Koko for super singles and had a lot of success, so I used him again, except with Thunder, which takes advantage of the rain. Calm Mind is probably not the best option looking back, maybe Volt Switch or Nature's Madness would be more useful. Ludicolo's Fake Out is very useful at times, and is another Swift Swim striker. The Blue battle was quite difficult - it took me several attempts to construct a good enough team to even reach 50, and then it took me 2 tries to beat Blue. Tyranitar's Sand Stream screws up everything, but luckily his Zam traced Drizzle. Very likely a loss if that didn't happen. Looking back, I probably should have went with Rain Dance on the Pelipper. I could have set rain on first turn, and the battle would be so much easier. There were very few instances where I actually needed to use Tailwind.
