How to replace a residential valve solenoid when the valve does not turn on from the automatic irrigation controller. Most Rain Bird residential irrigation valves work without any issues for years, but occasionally they stop opening even though the irrigation controller is still running. Other valves may be working fine, but one valve does not. This video can be used to replace a valve solenoid that is no longer working. The solenoid is what is connected to the irrigation controller and begins the valve open and closing process.
