Siberian Husky 101 : Breed and Personality

#siberian #siberianhusky101 #chukchi #petenergy #husky101 #dog101 In today's video, we are going to talk about a dog that was originally from Northeast Asia. A dog that was bred by the Chukchi people, for sled-pulling, companionship, and for guarding purposes as well. The well known, Siberian Husky. Many have fallen in love with the wild nature, and pride of Huskies, but are unaware just what this breed is truly like. This is not a breed for everyone. Their beauty often drives people to purchase them, unaware of their difficult traits, which makes many Siberian Huskies prime candidates for shelters. If you look at all the optimistic temperament points, you are left without any doubt that this is an outstanding breed. They're smart and independent. For everyone, they are affectionate but they do not need to constantly pester you for attention. In multi-dog families, they are not considered to be violent and usually do well. With kids, they do great, and will welcome anyone into their territory. The greatest concern about the Siberian Huskies is that they have a reputation as escape artists. Whenever they get the opportunity, they will wander away from home. Sadly, too many, as a result, have been lost or harmed. It is necessary for Siberian Husky owners to check their yards constantly for any means of escape, and to surround their yard with a fence sunk into the ground. The Siberian Husky is believed to have originated among the Chukchi, a tribe of Siberian nomads. The history of the breed is largely unknown, but DNA tests indicate that they are among the oldest breeds of dogs. We do know that the Chukchi used the dogs as a form of fast transportation, and that they interacted with the Chukchi as a family dog. The Huskies also slept with the children and were provided with warm, comfortable beds. Siberian Huskies are one of the most common pack dogs out there. They need an owner who is ready to be the strong pack leader. This makes training easier because you will find that your dog respects you, but if he checks the boundaries of your place in the pack, and attempts to take charge from time to time, don't be surprised. An average male stands between 21 and 23.5 inches high. while the female averages from 20 to 22 inches. The male weighs between 45 and 60 pounds. and the female 35 to 50 pounds. Huskies are generally healthy, but like all breeds, they're prone to certain health conditions. Please be aware of these diseases, common for The Siberian Husky. 1. Cataracts. A cataract is an opacity on the lens of the eye that causes difficulty in seeing. 2. Corneal Dystrophy. This condition affects the cornea or outer transparent portion of the eyeball. It is an opacity that is caused by a collection of lipids in the cornea. 3. Progressive Retinal Atrophy. This is a degenerative eye disorder that eventually causes blindness from the loss of photoreceptors at the back of the eye. With all of these in mind, it is imperative that you keep your Husky in tip-top shape. Regular exercise, high-quality dog food, and yearly visits to your local veterinarian, will ensure that your lovable companion will live a long and prosperous life.
