LESS MUSIC: Singer 401G - Introduction to and threading a Singer 401G.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- LESS MUSIC This is a new version of an earlier video only with less prominent music ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The top-of-the-range 401, for domestic use. The 401G was made in Germany (hence the G). If you have a 401a, the A indicates the machine was built in the USA. The 401 was the successor of the 301. And the 301 was as far as I know not sold in Europe. So to us in the EU the predecessor was the AMAZING 201. Singer wanted to make the 201 even better – the 401 was that machine. And it was capable of doing multiple (in-build) zigzag-patterns! A 401 has a rotating hook, you probably know from the 201. Like the 201 the Singer 401 uses the type 66 bobbins and standard 15x1 needles. It’s all in this video! BTW: It is not necessary to remove the cover plate when you want to oil the 401. But when you want to grease it too it does has to be removed for access. I have multiple vids online on vintage Singer sewing machines. Feel free to watch more… Featured machine: A (or: THE) great Singer 401g Timestamps: 0:00 General info 2:00 Needles and bobbins 3:05 Threading 4:37 Extra info (cams, operating the 401 and maintenance (oiling)) Used royalty free soundtrack/music, YouTube library: Mesmerize van Kevin MacLeod is gelicentieerd onder een Creative Commons Attribution 4.0-licentie. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
