Replacing Front Brake Calipers, Brake Flexi Hoses & Brake Bleed - 1998/1999 BMW Z3 2.8 Roadster E36

In a previous video I replaced the front brake pads and discs / rotors on my Z3 2.8 Roadster E36 5-speed manual in Arctic Silver, video here:    • Replacing Front Brake Discs & Pads - ...   I had identified that the front brake calipers were heavily corroded and following that repair, the right front (o/s/f) brake started binding. In this video, I replace the front brake calipers, the front brake flexi hoses and then bleed the brake system with fresh DOT 4 brake fluid. Because the caliper and carrier had been painted red, I used a wire wheel on a DeWalt cordeless drill to strip all the red paint from the caliper carrier and painted with aluminium silver VHT paint. I also paint the centre 'hub' of the brake discs as there were already displaying signs of surface corrosion on the new discs. This corrosion was easy to remove with a small wire brush, ahead of painting. During the bleeding/brake fluid change, carried out with a Gunson Eezibleed pressure bleeding kit which takes pressure from a spare wheel / tyre, I discovered that the bleed screw / nipple was seized on both rear calipers. I did not force these for risk of them breaking but will be replacing these calipers in the future. Parts used: Brake Calipers - ATE (Autodoc) Brake Hoses - Hella / Pagid (Autodoc) Spring Clip - BMW 34341163565 Brake Fluid - Napa DOT 4 Synthetic (Motor Factor) VHT Paint - Jenolite Matt Silver (Amazon) If you enjoy my videos and would like to help support Auto Knight in creating similar content, please click here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/AutoKnight Disclaimer - Please be advised that my videos are not instructional and are merely footage of me, with many years of motor trade experience, carrying out vehicle repairs and maintenance.
