How to brush hog with a Ford 8N tractor

A step by step tutorial on how to brush hog using a Ford 8N tractor. Ours is a 1948 Ford 8N with the Woods Dixie Cutter M5. The process would be similar for a 9N, or 2N model. Step 1 - get an overrun PTO coupler. Tractor video. #outdoorgans #ford8n #fordtractor #farmtractor #purplecollarlife How to brush hog: Step 1: Start the tractor (watch our other video for more details) Step 2: Push in clutch Step 3: engage PTO and release clutch (transmission in neutral) Step 4: Lift brush hog and move to where you need to work Step 5: lower draft position to where Brush hog just glides along the ground Step 6: Increase throttle Step 7: Push in clutch and put tractor in gear (1st or Reverse) Step 8: Release clutch to begin driving with PTO engaged. Step 9: Watch for obstructions (rocks, stumps, etc.) Step 10: Drive over (or back over) the area you wish to clear Step 11: Push in clutch to stop driving and to stop the PTO Step 12: Disengage the PTO lever to slow/stop the brush hog blades (wait for them to come to a complete stop.
