Here's a neat clip - a segment from the old AM Chicago program, hosted by Sandi Freeman, featuring longtime Chicago White Sox organist Nancy Faust. Also includes the pre-show break and preview. Includes: ABC Promo for that evening's Mork & Mindy and Angie (main voiceover by Ernie Anderson - ending voiceover by ??) Preview Commercial: "Dancin'" - directed by Bob Fosse at the Schubert Theatre Commercial: Eagle Discount Supermarkets - "Quality Meats for a Modern Woman" Wickes Furniture - "Bedding Sale" Bumper promo for today's 3:30 Movie, "From the Earth to the Moon" (voiceover by Fred Kasper) AM Chicago intro (with voiceover by Fred Kasper - mentioning the "ailing" Robb Weller who Sandi mentions has "a bit of the flu") Nancy Faust segment #1 - Nancy mentions her process for listening to new music and incorporating it into her playing; Sandi recounts her experience singing the National Anthem at a Sox game which was derailed a bit by Nancy's organ "conking out" right before Sandi began; then Nancy recounts another blooper during a twi-night double header in which she took a bathroom break and got back a little late for her to accompany Harry Caray in the 7th Inning Stretch rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" leading to Harry warbling it by himself in the wrong key; Nancy recounts playing "Short People" as the walk-up tune for Sox shortstop Harry Chappas; when she can and can't play during a ball game, or when a home run is hit; Nancy plays her famous "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" rendition; Sandi recounts that producer Bonnie Kaplan at WLS-TV is a big White Sox fan; Nancy tells about the time she got a call in the booth from manager Billy Martin asking her to stop playing so as not to upset his pitcher; Nancy recounts how she got started doing what she does Long Promo for today's 3:30 Movie, "From the Earth to the Moon" (voiceover by Fred Kasper) Commercial: Zayre - brand new store in town, "Take Another Look!" Commercial: Carnation French Fries - "A Crispy Surprise" Nancy Faust segment #2 - Nancy recounts receiving an offer from the Chicago Cubs trying to steal her away from the Sox; Nancy's first lean years with low attendance at the re-christened Comiskey Park (thanks to Bill Veeck's ownership); Sandi informs of upcoming "Nancy Faust / Music Night" at the ball park on May 1st - attendees with musical instruments get in for half-price; Chet Lemon's musical intro of "Lemon Tree"; Nancy sometimes plays jingles - McDonald's and Continental Airlines; Nancy takes requests at the ball park, mostly top-40 hits except for the occasional Melancholy Baby; Nancy's record album - "Nancy Faust at the Game - Favorite Organ Melodies on Location at Comiskey Park"; Sandi thanks Hammond Organ Company for setting them up with a "honey" of an organ for their use today as Nancy plays for an outro. AM Chicago bumper advises actress Patricia Neal as an "upcoming" guest Beginning of commercial for The Jewel Box before recording ends. This aired on local Chicago TV on Thursday, April 26th 1979 during the 8:58am to 9:15am timeframe. This footage was graciously donated to The Museum of Classic Chicago Television as part of the Nancy Faust Collection.
