This song is about one of those times. Where I'm from in England we have some trees that people tie ribbons of material onto, each one is for a prayer, a thought. I love that, held in the branches. Let Yourself Be Seen A friend once shared, 'I just want to let myself be seen' This song is inspired by that; sharing how you feel and showing who you are, however and whatever that is. I feel that nature shows us how Human All At the Plum Village monastery in France every week the community gather and one of the monastics offers stories from their lives. On this morning, there was a Q and A with the audience and I wrote down what inspired this song. 'I want to know what you think about gender identity?' The monastics bowed their heads to one another and after a moment one began sharing: 'All our blood is red and all our sweat is salty we are all the human family'. They went on to talk about embracing diversity and love transcending difference and I found myself looking at these words thinking there's a chorus there... This is my version with my friend violinist Sophie Loewendahl.
