It's charming and is a very familiar and evocative sound in gypsy jazz. In the video I you'll learn the lick then I'll show you how to apply it to a tune like 'Coqette' and how useful it really is. Here's what you need to do: 1. Learn the lick over A7 note by note slowly & out of time. 2. See how it relates to an A7 chord on the 5th fret. 3. Now play it in time making sure to start the lick on the 2nd beat of the bar. Practice just the first 3 notes until you have the timing internalised. 4. Now play the lick over and over over the A7 until it feels comfortable and you've memorised it. 5. Now play improvise over the 'Coquette' chord changes playing the lick every time there's a dominant 7th chord or 2-5 progression. 6. Try it out on more tunes and ad it to your licks stash!
