Once you've chosen that course topic and developed an outline. Now you're ready to start creating. There's lots of ways you can share your content with that video PDF’s or presentation slides and even integrating things like quizzes, and depending on your course you may want to use a combination of these elements. But no matter what form you choose there are some guiding principles to make sure you keep in mind to ensure your creative engaging content regardless of how it's consumed. So today I get to share three key ingredients that will help you create the most engaging content possible. Number one make the content educational. To position yourself as a leader in your field and maintain the interest of your students, your content needs to be top notch. Do some market research to get a sense of who else is providing the same content or similar content in your area of expertise and identify what ways you can provide different more detail or just overall better content to serve the same audience. Maybe there's a gap in the market or maybe you can offer another angle by providing your unique voice and perspective. At the end of the day your course needs to leave the students feeling as though they came away with key insights that they couldn't get anywhere else. Number two Make your content entertaining, while your educational content will help get people into your course. It's the entertainment factor that will help keep people engaged. For example you know how TV shows use hooks at the beginning and end of episodes to make you want to watch the whole season? Well you can employ the same strategies to keep people moving along through your own lessons. You can do this by restating a bold promise that the course holds for them or reiterate the benefits of completing the whole thing. Try evoking an emotional response and ask them to imagine just how amazing they're going to feel after they complete it. Also remember to tell stories our brains are hardwired to remember stories so the more that you use them the more engaged your audience is going to be. Number three make sure your content inspires action. This is really important because at the end of the day no matter how educational or entertaining or inspiring your content is if your students don't get anything out of it or you don't do anything with it they're not going to get results. Inspire your students to take action by clearly articulating how your content relates to their burning pain points all the way through your course. Make sure you can provide a clear next step on how we can put everything we just learn into practice. Another great way to inspire action is by referring testimonials or case studies as a way to show just how effective your content has been for others. If you keep these three ingredients in mind as you create your content you'll be well on your way to crafting an engaging course for your audience.
