After Bhikhari Thakur’s death in 1971, his disciple Rammagya Ram carried forward the legacy of Bhikhari Thakur's folk musical tradition and heritage. Ramagya Ram is the one through whom renowned Indian Folk Singer & Resercher Kalpana Patowary discovers Bhikhari Thakur, which results in as 'The Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur' released by EMI Virgin Records, London in 2012. The Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur Vol:2 was not planned like The Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur Vol: 1 https://bit.ly/2PJyVPj The 105 year old Ramagya Ram ji, the Nartak from whom Kalpana Patowary learned and in whom she found the Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur, it so happened that Ramagya Ramji himself wanted to visit Mumbai and expressed his wish to record some of Bhikhari Thakur’s songs as he feels time is passing by and he may not live long. Kalpana Patowary was touched by his urge and planned accordingly. The Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur Vol 2 is about going back in time even before Vol 1 happened and The Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur Vol 2 is the actual format from where I got the courage to create The Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur Vol 1. Technically, it is also hard to record and release worldwide a 105 year old living legend itself. Music Box is honoured and privileged to present you, Ramagya Ramji. Both the volumes are recorded with the sole intention of Archiving The Bhikhari Thakur to the musical Heritage, as i had to go through many hardships back in 2008, when i tried to reach songs of the Legend digitally. I am also happy that after the Legacy of Bhikhari Thakur I release in 2012, The Changed is seen.
