David & David tell you about the one thing you MUST do before updating your iPhone to iOS 16.5. New iOS updates aren't always perfect. In fact, past iOS updates have broken Touch ID and prevented some iPhone users from being able to make phone calls. If something goes wrong, you'll want to have a backup to restore from. There are a couple different ways to back up your #iPhone. The first is to use iCloud by opening Settings and tapping on your name at the top of the screen. Tap iCloud, then tap iCloud Backup. Finally, tap Back Up Now. You can also back up your iPhone using your computer. If you have a Mac running macOS 10.15 or newer, you'll use Finder. If you have a PC or a Mac running macOS 10.14 or older, you'll use iTunes. In Finder, click on your #iPhone under Locations. Click the circle next to "Back up all of the data on your iPad to this Mac." Click Back Up Now. In iTunes, click on the iPhone icon near the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Then, check the box next to This Computer. Click Back Up Now. We recommend encrypting local backups.
