Sabarmati Express Derails Near Kanpur; No Casualties Reported, Conspiracy Suspected | News9

In the early hours of Saturday, at least 20 coaches of the Sabarmati Express derailed near Govindpuri station in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Train number 19168, operating between Varanasi Junction and Ahmedabad, derailed around 2:30 am after reportedly striking a boulder on the tracks. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries has been reported. According to the North Central Railway, the locomotive was significantly damaged after the impact with the boulder. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the incident on social media, hinting at a possible conspiracy. He stated that sharp hit marks were observed on the track and that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Uttar Pradesh Police are investigating. The derailment has disrupted the rail route, leading to the cancellation of six trains and the diversion of three others.
