Borovets Skiing 05-11.02.2024. part 1 - Markudjik & Yastrebets

TURN ON SUBTITLES (CC) This year I was on ski vacation at Borovets, together with my sister. This is not our first time there, we also went there when we were kids, and we liked it than and we like it now. Borovets has 3 areas with ski slopes - Sitnyakovo & Martinovi Baraki, Yastrebets and Markudjik (highest area reachable by gondola). They are very professional, keeping the slopes in perfect shape. Even though, that week was extremely hot, everyday midday temperature was 12-15 C in Borovets, ski slopes were packed with snow, every night they were grooming slopes perfectly and in the morning skiers could enjoy skiing. Slopes didn't deteriorate much not even until the end of the day. Many slopes were closed, those that they couldn't prepare, that are not covered with snow making equipment, so they put warning signs not to go there, unless you want to go on your own responsibility. Also, that week, unfortunately, night skiing was canceled, again, due to the very hot temperatures. I was filming in different times of the day and also on different days to show all conditions on the pistes. There are many cafes and restaurants in Borovets, but also on the slopes. Prices are touristy, but reasonable. Also, in shops with souvenirs and supermarkets prices are very affordable. All the people are very nice and friendly. Atmosphere is truly laid back and relaxed, great vibe. I am giving the rating 10 to Borovets (except for Boro Sport, to them I am giving 1, read in the text below about incident with them..) I have my own equipment, but my sister was renting skis and boots, and I insisted to go to Boro sport, because they are the biggest and probably have the best quality of equipment and service. But it turned out that I was wrong. First, you need to by ticket at ticket service across them. My sister bought ticket for 6 days starting from 6. until 11. (we are not skiing on the first day, that is the day for acclimatization, and walking and seeing what is where, and also, because I am filming, I use the first day to film resort during the day, because on other days we will be on the slopes at that time..). At ticket service they gave her receipt (where is written only the amount of money you've paid, and not dates) and ticket with bar code and dates. When we went to the rent office they took the ticket, and leaved her only the receipt, and also put the bar code on skis with written date until they are rented. I felt uneasy about that and asked about ticket, shouldn't we take the ticket with us, but worker said that ticket is for him, and bar code on skis is for us. We were storing ski equipment at different place ( where people are really nice and friendly, I have only the best to say about them) that was in front of our apartment building and it was easier to pick them up and leave them there. And on 10. (day before the last day of renting) at 16:55 h (closing time is at 17 h) my sister got phone call from Bulgarian number. She was eating then so I took the call. The guy was asking why she didn't bring the equipment, he is waiting.. I said that she is renting until tomorrow, it is paid until 11th. But he was saying that on the ticket is written that renting time is from 5-10th.. I said that it is a mistake.. and to shorten the story.. He didn't say "Ok let's investigate.." but started yelling "Bring me back my equipment! Bring me back my equipment!.." and other things, all yelling.. And I was like, "Ok, we will bring you your equipment.." On the bar code on the skis it was written until 11. .. When we entered Boro Sport, the worker was waiting very angry, he was extremely rude (like on the phone..).. We showed him the bar code, but he was like - you could stick another bar code with false date ?!? obviously because that is what he did.. on the ticket I am sure that I've seen another bar code stuck on top of the previous one, and it was written from 5-10. ..
