SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall vs Marquette The No. 23/23 Marquette women's basketball team earned a 75-54 road win at Seton Hall on Tuesday night behind a career-high 30 points from Liza Karlen. Karlen is the eighth player in the BIG EAST this season to have a 30-point game. The senior was 11-of-16 from the floor and grabbed six rebounds. Karlen became the 34th player in program history to score 1,000 points for her career. The senior has 1,009 career points to rank 33rd all-time. The Golden Eagles (14-2, 3-2 BIG EAST) shot 53.7 percent from the floor, the tenth time this season MU has had a 50-percent-or-better field goal percentage. MU was 10-of-20 from deep, the fifth time this season MU has been 50-percent-or-better from long range. Jordan King cored 16 points for her fourth-straight game in double-figures and added eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block. Mackenzie Hare had 12 points with a pair of 3's. The sophomore has hit a three in every game this season. After leading by two at half, Marquette outscored the Pirates 27-13 in the third quarter. The Golden Eagles went on a 14-2 run where they were 7-of-7 from the field over 2 minutes and 44 seconds to build a 51-39 lead. A Micah Gray 3 would cut the lead to nine, but a Karlen jumper got the lead back to double-digits that would stay the rest of the game. Karlen (17 points, 6-of-6) and King (8 points, 3-of-3) combined for 25 of MU's 27 points in the third quarter. Karlen's 17 points were the most points scored in a quarter by a Golden Eagles this season. Marquette led by as many as 24 in the second half. Seton Hall (10-6, 2-3 BIG EAST) was led by Micah Gray who had 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting. NOTABLES: Marquette improves to 19-11 in the series. Golden Eagle's 75 points were the most points allowed by Seton Hall this year in regulation. First win at Seton Hall since Feb. 17, 2019. Marquette won the rebounding battle, 39-25, the 15th time in 16 games MU has outrebounded its opponent. Golden Eagles had 20 assists on 29 baskets, the ninth time MU has recorded 20-or-more assists. Liza Karlen became the 34th player in program history to score 1,000 points for her career. The senior has 1,009 career points to rank 33rd all-time. Karlen also jumped into the top-20 all-time in rebounds with 618. Karlen's 30 points is the first 30-point game for Marquette since Jordan King had 31 against Providence on Jan. 14, 2023. Jordan King moved into the top-10 all-time in career blocks with 71. Skylar Forbes had her first career start and had a career-high 11 rebounds.
