I relied solely on the cameras auto focusing system for years, just willing to accept, that at times it just wouldn't focus on what I needed it too. The little focus wizard built into every camera would just have off days. Days where he just wouldn't focus on what I needed him too. He would find some random object in the scene to focus on and ruin the whole shot! I keep running into situations where this would happen, so I was forced to start learning techniques to get what I wanted in focus, in focus. Its been a journey, years in fact. Constantly trying new methods and techniques to find what works and what doesn't. not just for photography but also filmmaking and videography. I Now have a method I rely on, and it works.
