Manali to Rohtang Pass - Travel Vlog | Naggar Castle | Beas Kund

#Manali #Delhi #RohtangPass This video is 2nd from my Manali series. I recently went to Rohtang Pass in Manali and that was one of the best trips of my life. I booked a cab on ‘KLOOK’ App (link below) and started from Manali early morning and on the way to Rohtang Pass, I also visited Naggar Castle, Rahala Falls, Marhi, Beas kund, and Rohtang Top. Rohtang Pass - It is located at an elevation of 3,978 m (13,050 ft) above sea level on the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, around 51 km from Manali. It holds a strategic importance for India as it connects Lahaul and Spiti Valleys to Kullu valley. The pass is closed for almost half of the year and is open only from May to November. I wish I had made to this place in the month of June though. This pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas basins. The Beas River emerges from underground at the Beas Kund, which is few meters away from the BRO post visible in this picture and flows southward. Also, one needs permit to visit/cross it. Permits are issued to the first 800 petrol vehicles and 400 diesel vehicles every day. This permit can only be applied for the next 2 days from the current date. No permits are issued on Tuesday as the day is marked for maintenance of Rohtang. Everyone says that it's not safe to go to Rohtang in the monsoon time. I agree that you would miss witnessing the snowcapped mountains in monsoon but every touch of even tiny drops of rainfall on your face which monsoon brings along with it will feel amazing. This pass is no doubt a little scary. Even its name means 'Bhoti' in Ladakhi language means "pile of corpses". This famous pass has got its infamous name due to numerous people dying in bad weather trying to cross the pass. Bollywood Director Imtiyaz Ali has made Rohtang Pass a fixed location in almost everyone's bucket list so who wouldn't fall for it! But this beautiful place has a well-deserved reputation for being dangerous as well. Naggar Castle – It is located at a distance of 21 kms from Manali and can be visited any time of the year. This 600 years old catle has been turned into a heritage hotel and is a must-visit place during your visit to Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Many famous Bollywood movies have been shot at this castle. In fact, the famous song “yeh ishq haaye, baithe bithaye” from the movie “Jab we Met” was also shot here. There is an entry ticket to this place which is just Rs 30/person. Beas Kund – This kund is located near Marhi enroute to Rohtang Pass and an awesome place to click some extraordinary pictures ☺ Klook Website: www.klook.com *Save Rs 200 using the Promo code: DESIGIRL Users shall save the promo code in their KLOOK account on or before 31st October 2018 Bookings with promo code must be made by 31st December 2018.
