00:16 Sung Wong Toi Garden is located at the junction of Sung Wong Toi Road and Ma Tau Chung Road. Sung Wong Toi (Terrace of Sung Emperors) was originally situated on the western shore of Kowloon Bay. Historically at the end of the Sung dynasty (1276), two Sung emperors, pursued by Mongolian army, came all the way south and took refuge at "Sacred Hill" on the western shore of Kowloon Bay. In 1279, Sung Dynasty was overthrown by Mongolian army. On the summit of Sacred Hill there was a great rock. People inscribed characters "Sung Wong Toi" on this huge rock to commemorate Sung's emperors had been here. 7 characters were added recording the repair in 1807. In 1941, the Japanese army occupied Hong Kong. To expand Kai Tak Airport, they blew up the rocks of Sacred Hill. It was fortunate the rock inscribed with the characters remained intact. After the war, for preservation of historical heritage, the Government built "Sung Wong Toi Garden" west of original location and cut the massive rock into a rectangular block. The rock was then moved into Sung Wong Toi Garden. 06:08 Lomond Road is about 600 metres from Sung Wong Toi Garden. Inside Lomond Road Garden there are remains of old doorway and lintel. The doorway is inscribed with "Supreme Emperor Temple". "Supreme Emperor" means "Supreme Emperor of Dark Heaven", also known as "North Emperor". In 1920's, there were 3 similar temples near Sung Wong Toi. The temple in the old Ma Tau Wai village was removed and replaced in today's Lomond Garden In 1921. The temple was eventually abandoned, the old doorway and lintel are the historical remains today. Yet the temple is an important historical site.
