You can avoid this by going down Milton St after turning left at Granville Ave, then taking the Arbutus Greenway until it meets SW Marine again. Turning left at 70th, you can use the right lane (the must-turn-right doesn't apply to bikes). But after that, the first half is a painted (and sometimes protected) lane, and the second half is a shoulder with few intersections. However, those intersections are very awkward to navigate as you have to cross dangerous slip lanes. (Going the opposite direction doesn't have this problem.) Continue around and out of UBC via NW Marine. Continue into UBC via Wesbrook Mall, 16th Ave, Stadium Rd, or Agronomy Rd (shortly after the video ends).
