Drawing from the Well National Concert Hall | Full Concert, 15th March 2022

In March 2022, ITMA partnered with the National Concert Hall (NCH) to present a special concert celebrating the legacy of one of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians, the late Liam O'Flynn. This was the first edition of ITMA and the NCH's bi-annual Drawing from the Well concert series. Liam O’Flynn was an exceptional artist. As an outstanding uilleann piper, he occupied an important place in the traditional arts. The generation of piping masters that went before him – Leo Rowsome, Séamus Ennis and Willie Clancy – held Liam in the highest esteem. His piping already has an indelible place in the national music consciousness. The Irish Traditional Music Archive acquired the Liam O’Flynn Collection in June 2018 thanks to the generosity of Liam’s widow Jane O’Flynn, and this wonderful body of multimedia materials is now organised and accessible to the public.
