It is located 30 kilometers from the state capital: Guadalajara, and is the capital of the homonymous municipality. The municipality of Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos is one of the 125 municipalities in which the Mexican state of Jalisco is divided. It is located in the center of the state in the region of the same name, directly north of Lake Chapala, its municipal capital is the city of Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillo “We are characterized by the production of quince, the fair was born to give identity to the people and to taste all the derivatives of quince. We have quince and its derivatives, ate, punch, ice cream, some exotic dishes, bread, among others. We are going to find cultural, sports and artistic activities.” The quince is a seasonal fruit, so this festival cannot take place on another date. This year, for the first time, the inaugural parade will feature Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos, a theme to celebrate the twinning with the city of Codogné, an Italian place that shares the cultivation of quinces with Ixtlahuacán.
