I went to the Oakland A's Final Game at the Oakland Coliseum on September 26, 2024. I got to the stadium at around 9:30 am right when the gates opened. The parking lot was already full as it had opened at around 7 am since they were anticipating a large crowd of over 40K fans who went to watch the final games and to say goodbye to the team and this historical place. This is the same venue where A's had a World Series 3 peat in the 70s and won the World Series in 1989 against the San Francisco Giants after it was postponed due to the huge earthquake that rattled the bay area. Although emotions were high and some fans disrupted the game in protest of John Fisher deciding to relocate the team to Las Vegas, the final out was finally recorded after the last ever first pitch happened 2 hours and 29 minutes before. The A's ended up winning their final game at the Coliseum 3 to 2 and fans stuck around to listen to Oakland A's Manager, Mark Kotsay talk about this emotional season and got the fans to chant "Lets go Oakland". one last time.
