For the 123rd instalment of the Trains At series, I visit Farningham Road on the Chatham Mainline, where services are provided by Southeastern only. During off peak times, Farningham Road is called at by 1 train per hour (tph), between Dover and London Victoria, and is passed by the other 2tph each way, 1 Dover and 1 Ramsgate. During the peak times, the stoppers are shortened to Gillingham (Kent) or Rochester and then increased to 2tph, with further increases on the non stop services, with some even originating from London Cannon St. Farningham Road is by far and away my favourite station on the Chatham Mainline between Faversham and Swanley Junction thanks to its picturesque banking lining the tracks and high speed from all passing services.
