My Trusted Electrician's day in Surrey - upgrading bathroom to LED spots.

This project was the result of a lighting fault. This bathroom contained 4x 12v MR16 spotlights (downlights). It was down to only one spotlight working and the customer wanted a solution before the final spot died alongside it's compadre's. The cause for the fault was insulation being piled over all four spotlights. This caused excessive heat and eventually metled most of the lighting components in three of the four lights. The only solutions for repair were to either do a like for like replacement and remove the fibre glass insulation around the fittings, or for a slightly steeper cost replace the fittings for an LED equivelent. The labour was equal in cost and so only the parts would differ in price. The perks with the LED upgrade offer was cheeper running costs, no maintenance and longer life span of the halogen equivelent. Not to mention less heat emitted from the LED fittings.
