Good Day to all viewers! In todays video, we head back to the famous Vaal River. This time, for a good ol' Pap Gooi session! We camped on a farm just out of Parys called Vosrite, on a site called Manapools. (Link Below) This style of fishing is the fishing that I grew up around, this is the style of fishing that fueled the addiction I have for the sport today. My Dad and I had not had a Pap Gooi session in ages, so we decided that we needed to make up for some lost time. The whole family tagged along (Except for my sister Jenna, she was feeling a bit sick) on this trip to the river and everyone managed at least one fish! After casting my first baits out on Friday afternoon, I noticed loads of small baitfish jumping along the side... So I decided to rig up my Salmo Rattlin Hornet and go spinning. It did not take long at all for me to get stuck into my first Barbel! As this fish bit, it ripped my drag so hard, I had to move as fast as I could to get into a better position to fight this fish! After a few minutes, I managed to land this 4-5kg Barbel... SECOND CAT ON A CRANK!!! Shortly after releasing that fish, I landed another tiny Barbel on the crank... THIRD CAT ON A CRANK!!! On the Pap Gooi side of things, fishing was slow. We only caught Muddies the whole time we were there. Aside from that GIANT Barbel my Dad lost... The Muddies were still lots of fun, and I think they're such a crazy looking fish. What do you think about them? We had an absolutely great time on the Vaal River and I can't wait to go spinning again! But for now... I cannot wait to get on Arabie and slam some green slabs on the NUKE PUNKCH!!!
