This is a short video of clips of the Nov. 1, 1970 National Hockey League game between the Minnesota North Stars and the Bruins at the Garden, won by Boston, 5-0. The clips are from a compilation of Bruins-related material from Channel 5 in Boston, WHDH-TV at the time. They're silent, but there are so few highlights from this record-breaking season I figure it's better than nothing. Poor Cesar Maniago. A decent netminder for the North Stars, but the Bruins almost always bombarded him. In this game he faces 59 shots and allows five goals in a 5-0 Boston victory. Chin up, Cesar. Later in the season the Bruins would pepper Minnesota's Gump Worsley with 67 shots in a 4-4 tie. The hard-working secondary Boston stars are all over the stat sheet in this one. We see John Bucyk, Fred Stanfield, and Ed Westfall all score, and John McKenzie and Wayne Cashman added tallies in the third period. Copyright (old) WHDH TV or any other party.
