The 45 x 90 feet site was surrounded by 2 to 4 story buildings on 3 sides in the Paldi area of Ahmedabad city. The sole permissible frontage, the only means for natural light, aeration, and establishing visual connections with the outdoors, was merely 27 feet wide. These factors were challenging for the architect. The client wished for a 4BHK Bungalow, along with a garden space that permits interaction with nature. The layout of the resultant house, with a built-up area of 5,200 sq.ft., is uncomplicated and flows naturally from common to private activities. Ar. Prashant Parmar narrates the story of this modern urban house as it intelligently plays with semi-open terraces, shaded by multiple frames, creating a unique experience throughout the day.
